Thruxton Circuit will welcome the BTRA British Truck Racing Championship after all in 2020 following confirmation that the series will visit the circuit on October 31/November 1.
The championship was originally scheduled to visit the Hampshire track in June, but that was cancelled by the lockdown. As part of a revised four-round season, the trucks were due to race at Pembrey Circuit on October 3/4, but the current Welsh Government regulations do not allow for that.
Rather than cancel another meeting, the BARC has changed the venue and the date, so that the trucks will now head to Thruxton, the fastest circuit in the UK, for their penultimate event of the season at the end of October.
Subject to government guidelines at the time, it is hoped that spectators will be permitted to attend the meeting, in accordance with social distancing guidelines. A limited number of tickets are now available to purchase online from www.thruxtonracing.co.uk but all ticket holders will receive a full refund if they are not allowed to attend.
Customers who had previously purchased tickets for the original British Trucks event in June and have chosen to defer those tickets to the 2021 event, will need to purchase tickets to attend this new event. Deferred tickets will still be valid for the 2021 event.
Ben Taylor. BARC Chief Executive said:
“It’s a real shame for Pembrey to lose its truck meeting, but the opportunity to move it to Thruxton made it an easy decision and we are grateful to everyone involved for making this possible at such short notice. We look forward to a great weekend at the end of next month and very much hope that a limited number of spectators will be able to enjoy the action with us.”
