BSB cancelled for 2020 but will return in 2021

10 Jun 20

This year’s Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) round at Thruxton, scheduled for 7-9 August, has been cancelled.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BSB organisers have created a revised 2020 season calendar that was issued today (10 June), and unfortunately, Thruxton will not feature this year.

Stuart Higgs, Bennetts British Superbike Championship Series Director commented:

We are very sorry to find ourselves in the situation as the series promoter, together with the circuit operator we have concluded due to logistical and operational constraints arising as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic it will not be possible to hold the Thruxton round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship this year.

Despite being omitted from the revised 2020 Bennetts BSB calendar, Thruxton is considered as one of the key features of any regular season.  The scene of some of the most thrilling BSB races and the fastest track in the country, it will be missed this year. But rest assured we are fully committed to return to Thruxton in Summer 2021. We are grateful for the support of all our customers and BSB organisers at this difficult time and look forward to welcoming you back to Thruxton again very soon.

Ticket holders have two options:
  1. Exchange your tickets for the 2021 event. This means you will get next year’s tickets at this year’s prices. If you would like to do this, please send you name, address and postcode to: rebookbsb@barc.net and we will make all the arrangements for you. If you can't make the 2021 date, we will offer you a refund.

  2. If you would like a full refund, please email your name, address and postcode to: refundbsb@barc.net and we will issue a refund as soon as possible, but please understand that our staff are still furloughed, so it may take a little longer than usual to complete this.

If we do not hear from you before 31 July 2020, we will automatically process a refund.

We are hoping to get back to racing at Thruxton before the end of July 2020. A revised calendar of events will be held in the second half of the year, including the rescheduled BTCC meeting on 19-20 September.

We are grateful for the support of all our customers and BSB organisers at this difficult time and look forward to welcoming BSB and all the incredible fans and supporters back to Thruxton in 2021.
