About the Megane RS Trophy vs Alpine A110
This experience puts the driver behind the wheel of two fantastic models from Groupe Renault - the Alpine A110 and Renault Megane RS Trophy, on track at Thruxton.
Direct from Renault is the Megane RS Trophy. The RS Trophy features a firm chassis - with the Renault 4Control four-wheel steering system, limited-slip differential, Brembo brakes behind 19-inch wheels, driven by a 1.8-litre turbo engine with 297BHP through a paddle-shift gearbox, all wrapped in an aggressively styled, bespoke badged front-wheel-drive hot hatch.
Next is the Alpine A110. The original from the late sixties was a lightweight, compact, highly agile sports car that the Alpine-Renault team used to claim the World Rally Championship manufacturers’ title in 1973. The same core elements of lightness and agility have been used by Alpine to resurrect and build the new A110 for the modern day. The result is stunning and has catapulted the A110 straight to the top of the sports car tree.
As soon as you seat yourself in the driver's seat, the Alpine A110 wraps around you. Fire up the engine and head out on track. The performance is fantastic, the lightness of the car will amaze you. Thruxton is the perfect place to experience the Alpine A110. The combination of fast sweeping corners and tighter combination corners at the complex and chicane allow the Alpine A110 to show off everything it has to offer.
Two truly stunning cars from Renault, which excite and excel in their respective categories.
